Camino Oscuro

Camino Oscuro Bio

In June of 2005 a few friends got together and jammed for a few hours in hopes of starting a Northern New Mexico Variety Band.  Each musician’s current band situation was discouraging and growing stale.  It was instant chemistry, and this encouraged the four guys to move on with the new project.  Camino Oscuro was born.

The band had its first performance within three weeks of its existence.  The bands goal was to establish itself as a variety band specializing in Northern New Mexico Spanish, Country and Rock music.

Camino Oscuro entered Rancho Digital Studios in Santa Fe to start recording their debut album after only one month of its existence.  The debut CD entitled AL FIN (Finally) was released in January of 2007 and earned the band two nominations from the New Mexico Hispano Music Association for Rising Star and Instrumental Song of the Year ultimately winning the latter of the two.  The album received heavy airplay in New Mexico, Colorado, and Alaska.

Camino Oscuro has played all over New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada for numerous occasions including State Fairs, Fiestas, and numerous private functions.

The band entered Stepbridge Studios in Santa Fe in March of 2009 to record its second CD due for release sometime in 2010.

The band has endured change through the years and has gone through many musicians.

The current lineup consists of Daniel Aragon on Bass Guitar & Vocals who is also the bands manager and founder, and Joseph Chavez on Lead Guitar & Vocals.

The newest additions to Camino Oscuro are Rudy Gallegos on Drums,

Desi Aragon on Pedal Steel Guitar, and Johnny Garcia on Guitar.

The current lineup Camino Oscuro will prove to be the best in C.O. history giving the band a new life without losing its New Mexico traditional roots sound.  The band will continue to entertain crowds with its high energy dance music and is sure to keep you on the Dance Floor all night long.  For a good time, travel down The Dark Road known as CAMINO OSCURO.
